"Pine Creek Snow Showers" 12x9 Oil

It seems there have been quite a few images that need a bit more attention these days. This is one such painting. I have enjoyed this quite a bit. A bit more color here and another tree there or perhaps soften the edges on something. So when is a painting finished?
When there are no more adjustments to be made.

"Clearing Storm" Revised 16x20 Oil

This painting was posted quite a long time ago. I felt it needed some minor changes so today I made some necessary adjustments. Now I feel like I can walk into the painting and stay awhile.

"Summer's Arrival" 11x14 Pastel on Ampersand Pastelbord

This painting is a recent demonstration given in my Thursday morning pastel class. I continue to enjoy painting surf. It seems each season brings about subtle changes that are a
challenge to capture.

"A Moment Of Spring" 8x10 Oil

Last Friday I painted on location in Mammoth Lakes. I left sunny Southern California and made my way up Hwy 395. I found that summer was not quite ready to make an appearance in the Eastern Sierras. It looked more like early Spring with large patches of snow still about. All the better for me to paint creeks with melting snow.

This piece was painted mostly on location until the gale force wind and the threat of precipitation made it impossible for me to continue. This trip, once again, was too short. I guess I'll need to go back up in a few weeks.

"Highway 395" 8x6 Oil

I was heading into the town of Bishop coming home from a short weekend trip in Mammoth Lakes and rather than drive by once again, I stopped and snapped a few reference photos to paint from. I'm happy I took the time to stop but ideally I would love to stop and take about 2 hours and paint on location. Maybe next trip.

"Pacific Gold" 11x14 Pastel

I have been on a bit of a wave painting trend. It is really about the light and color that I enjoy so much. No surprise coming from someone who likes to paint.
