Last Summer the lifeguard towers in the Santa Monica Bay were decorated with different colorful designs. Each tower was unique with its own variation of color and shape. I enjoyed painting this scene and remembering last summer.
I was attracted to this scene because it reminds me of what the California impressionists saw and painted 100 years ago. This is a scene east of the town of Arroyo Grande.
