Lifting Fog Over Fisherman's Wharf 11x14 oil

 Sold

I just returned from a very busy four days at the Carmel Art Festival. For the most part weather managed to cooperate for the artists and the sun came out for most of the while. This was one of the most picturesque areas I have ever been and it is easy to undersand why an artist would call this area home. The painting above was one of four I completed during the two full days of painting.

"Power And Grace" 11x14 Pastel

Sold 800.

This pastel was a recent demonstration for my pastel class. This was another wonderful session and when you have students as good as mine, teaching is easy. Another session begins in June. I am now preparing for next weeks Carmel Plein Air Festival. I am a bit nervous as it has been awhile since my last plein air event. I am looking forward to the challenge to paint the best pieces I can. No doubt there will be plenty of subject matter to paint.

This pastel was accepted into The Segil fine Art Summer Show.

Mid Morning Palos Verdes Coast 9x12 Oil

 700. Sold

I have been doing more plein air painting with oils recently and I want to continue this trend so last Friday I drove to Palos Verdes to paint. I did not have a lot of time to search for a new vantage point or discover a new location so I drove to a familiar place. This was merely about practicing and seeing if I could do more with a familiar subject. I like to go to places that I have painted before to test myself to see if I have grown and learned since the last time I painted there.

This painting was accepted into The Segil fine Art Summer Show.
