Last Friday morning I left Mammoth Lakes with the intention of painting Crowley Lake from the shore. While I was on my way, I glanced up this road and saw the trees and had to turn around to take a look. I was attracted to the high vantage point this view offered including the old road leading to the stand of trees. So I stayed and painted this scene. Needless to say, I never quite made it to the lake shore. Perhaps next trip.
